Checking out

I have a very busy month ahead of me, and I sort of want it to fast forward but it seems to be DRAGGING! I also want it to slow down but then it seems to be FLYING. I guess that's the funny thing about time, it can go as fast or as slow as needed.
I was hoping to leave my job before Easter so I don't really have to do a lot with holidays or big events, since Valentines day really was so big that I kind of just wanted a mellow experience but my Manager is organizing this event that he hopes to be bigger than valentines day. There's going to be a full piano bar, 6 different wine makers signing bottles, a bunch of different wine vendors there talking to customers about their wine, a floral design class by a guy who won 1st prize in a contest in Orange county. I am providing a bunch of different flowers for the designer, I am ordering in twice the ammount of potted plants to decorate AND the prices on all of them are being reduced, I have giant bug balloons that will be blown up for the occasion that will also be for sale. BLAH. Any other job at any other time it would be fun, but a week before my last day of work there. I haven't even put in my two weeks notice and I feel like I have emotionally checked out of work. I get everything done fairly quickly so I have WAY too much time but I love the money so I won't just leave early, so I do almost all the jobs that I usually stretch out for a whole week in one day. I just keep repeating what I have been doing so I am super bored with my job now. Also my manager who is so completely busy with this event hasn't hired anyone to replace me which means NO ONE will know what to do in Floral department. As many times as I tell him how bad of an idea this is he still hasn't done anything. Oh well I guess I should stop caring.
I am however getting increasingly more excited about moving back home.. and by home I mean literally back to MY home in Utah with my Parents. Some may think this is a bad idea moving back in with my parents but my parents are the best thing ever and I am so grateful that my mom and dad are so awesome to help us out while we are both going to school and have no job or income. (Well some income but not a lot.) I am anxious to help them re-do the basement for our living quarters. I am more than anxious to start school and to help Dave with his school. Darwin is anxious to STOP moving so much.
Dave and I are good, we're both just keeping busy with our day to day lives, work in the morning, tv, dinner, work out, then bed. We're boring. But our two year anniversary is coming up so maybe we'll do something fun that I will tell you all about.

Birthday Month

In case you don't already know you only have 5 more days of birthday shopping for me.
I like to say the whole month is be nice to Heather and let me celebrate my day all week...but as of lately I don't much care that I am turning 22. It's not fair that this is the 2nd year in a row that I can't be with my family. (Thanks alot Marine Corps) Eh it's no big deal, I know my Hubby bought me some cute presents and I am going to get a few cupcakes to eat on Tuesday. But I did want to do SOMETHING and since we get in free at Seaworld I talked him into going there. (At least there is beer to make it easier to deal with the crowds) I am pretty excited and I am glad we get in free so I can buy as much frozen lemonade as my stomach can possibly handle.

Other than my Birthday I am just getting through work day by day. (It's more stressful than you may think) I hate hate HATE being the only person in Floral because it's LONELY and other than Dave haning out with me I am lonely more than ever. I hate having all the responsibility on my shoulders and it's just time consuming more than anything. Don't get me wrong I love that I have a job and got it so quickly and that I make a good amount of money so that we can save more for when we move home (Which is looking increasingly more expensive with ever gas price drive by) And I love that I usually get off around 5 to hang out with my husband for the day. BUT I will not be sad to leave this job.

The most exciting thing happening this month is my Mommy and her Mommy are coming to visit Dave and I for what will be the last time ever. She's coming out the 29th of March and we are going to Disneyland and I couldn't be more excited. (Dave hates disneyland for some ODD reason so he's not invited cause he's a party pooper but I love him still) It'll be nice to go one more time before I go home to start school and be tied down for about 15 plus months.

AHH I can't believe I am going to start school! I think back and if I had just gone strait to school right after high school it wouldn't be such a difficult transition but I am going from working in restaurants and shopping centers and malls to Learning again. I can't lie I am so excited I could just throw up but I am nervous. It's gonna be a whole new chapter and I really can't wait.

I will miss my Friends I have made through the Marines and look forward to hearing about their lives 5, 7, 10 years down the line. I hope to see Michelle again every time I go to Disneyland (Which I hope is often) So I can meet her Baby Wookie, and to see Sandra and maybe she'll just come to Disneyland with us. And I would love to go to Denver again. But I need this new chapter to make new friends.

Ps we have been looking at some different ideas to move and I have heard "Pods" or "uhaul" and both are crazy expensive! Pods is a company that brings you your own storage unit to load and then they ship it to where you are moving. Ya it's 2 grand. 2,000.00 dollars!! Sucks. Uhaul, since Dave's Ford Explorer Sport is deemed "rollable" it's not allowed to rent a trailer from them. And to rent a small truck which we would need someone to drive back would be close to 700 dollars. We calculated how much it would cost in gas for Dave to drive his Explorer back to Utah get his Dad's trailer, drive back load up, and then both of us drive back is close to 500 dollars. which is 200 dollars less than any Uhaul. (Unless gas hit's 4.00 a gallon which would suck) So here's hoping gas stays low until we move...please?

Good... no I am talking REALLY GOOOOOOOD

Remember my post earlier about how karma is a bitch and those who do the right things will be rewarded and those who do the wrong thing will get theirs in the end. Well he won't get his not for a while I suspect but Dave got his (cause he's amazing) and he is getting out 3 months earlier than we expected. Expect us in Utah at the end of April.
So in case you have not followed my blog very closely I am NOW the florist at Albertsons... I am pretty awesome at it. If you are my friend on facebook I posted a few pictures of some corsages and boutineers I made for the local high schools winter formal. My department usually turns a 400$ day and that friday I sold an 800 $ day which is doubling it. My manager is pleased and I was just happy to have that day over with. Now we are looking at Valentines day. The single most crazy day of the whole year for Floral Departments, AND our store is one of the bigger Albertsons and since we're a big store we gotta do everything big. We have the whole front end set up in pink and red hearts with tables lined up ready to make flower after flower arrangement. And that's not all we also do Chocolate Dipped strawberries fresh right in front of you. It's going to be ONE hectic weekend.
This week I was scheduled to work 9 hour days from wednesday to sunday and I assume monday is going to be another kind of those days. (It's great for the money I will receive) Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow is all set for prepping roses, and greenery, and filler, and a freaking LOT of bouquets. I am talking 12 or 13 shopping carts FULL of flowers sitting in freezers in various parts of the store already, and I guess that's only the HALF of it. (Ya I was freaking out a little too) But my store manager has been amazing through this holiday. He has made sure I have had the help I need and I really am not stressed about it at all. I am going to have so much help over the weekend that I feel confident that we will beat last Valentines sales goal.
There is this one lady who works with Albertsons and the balloon place we order balloons/helium/flower accessories/etc from. She helps out all the florists in all the stores from Riverside to San Clemente. She came in today to see how I was doing in this process. She looked at everything and asked a couple questions that I could answer right off the bat and I felt confident about what I was doing. I guess she had come into help me do things (cause she just spent the last hour or so helping the albertsons floral department down the street, the florist there has worked there over a year and she needed more help than I did) There was nothing she had to do or anything to suggest. I was on top of my game today. She loved how everything looked so much she took pictures of what we were doing and how things were set up so she could give examples to every other store. She told me how amazed that I had only been working there for 5 ish weeks and I already had more learned and finished than the girl who had over a years worth of experience. If my head wasn't already big enough...
I was very proud of my work today and I felt soooo happy that I am getting such positive feedback already. I know I do a good job but when others who have been doing this longer than I have take notice and pride in my work it really makes me feel special. Like all the hard work I put in is paying off. It's been such a great experience working there and I am going to miss it and all the amazing people I have met, but I am ready to move home already. (Too bad they don't have albertsons in spanish fork anymore.)
After my amazing day I came home to my cutest husband ever who had picked up the house clean and cooked my dinner. I live such a blessed life! He told me it's cause he couldn't watch television. (We are trying to save money before moving home so we took it off our plan) But I know he did it cause he loves me and wanted to show me it.
I couldn't ask for a better day and I know this weekend is going to be great but wishes of luck couldn't hurt either ;)

I hate my days off

Well only if Dave does not have the day off too. I am seriously obsessed with my job. I just want it to look good and I want nothing more but to be the best I can be. Which is weird. I hate working, but I all of a sudden find how much I really enjoy my job. I have all the stuff I have to do but after I am done I get to do what I want as far as making flower arraingements, blowing up balloons, etc. I absolutly LOVE my job. I haven't taken pictures of any of the flower arraingements I have made but I will the next ones I make.

I had so much to do on thursday and didn't get it all done and today I had my day off...blah! I wish I could have stayed longer and finished my projects...but I guess it gives me something to work on saturday.
